What We Believe

"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." - A.W. Tozer

Our Core Beliefs

The following are core beliefs of Charlotte Assembly of God. CAG also follows and adheres to the 16 fundamental truths taught in accordance to the Assembly of God fellowship. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines. For more information on the 16 fundamental truths, click here.

1.  THE BIBLE

2. THE TRIUNE GOD

We believe the Bible is inspired by God. God used obedient followers who were devoted to Him to record the thoughts and accounts of God through the power of the Holy Spirit. The Bible is the primary way God actively communicates with His people. The Bible is inerrant in what it intends to say, and is the authoritative rule of faith and conduct.
2 Timothy 3:16-17
We believe in the One True God who created the world with just the sound of His voice. God is a Triune God who reveals Himself as God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit. All three persons of God are coequal and coexist with one another in perfect submission and unity.
Isaiah 40:28 | John 1:14 | Romans 8:26-27

3. OUR FALLEN NATURE

4. SALVATION IN JESUS CHRIST

When God created mankind, He made them perfect and without sin. God created us with the purpose to be in a relationship with Him. God made Adam and Eve perfect in His own image, but eventually Adam and Eve listened to the serpent over God and made the decision to reject God. As a result, a separation was created between mankind and God.
Genesis 2-3
God's response to our fallen nature was His Son, Jesus Christ. God sent His Son, clothed in humanity, to earth as our savior. Although He was faced with the same trials and temptations we experience, Jesus still managed to live a life without sin. Jesus gave up His life to take the weight of sin that every person has ever committed.
John 3:16 | Romans 10:9-10
